I am a Scientist at the TCS Research & Innovation and currently working at the Kolkata lab. I am part of the Embedded Systems and Robotics group and my main research focus is multi-robot systems, human-robot interaction, and Internet-of-Things. Before that I worked briefly as a researcher at SICS Swedish ICT in Sweden. I got my bachelor’s and master’s degree from Jadavpur University in 2009 and IIT Bombay in 2011, respectively. I completed my PhD studies at the Delft University of Technology in Netherlands in 2016.
Virtualizating the IoT ecosystem has three major benefits – (i) tackling heterogeneity through a unified view of the device, (ii) reduce infrastructure cost by reusing and sharing devices, and (iii) achieve higher operational optimization of the deployed devices.
A popular technique to reduce overall data traffic in a WSN is to keep only a subset of nodes active at any point of time. Data for the sleeping nodes can be reproduced using the data from the active nodes. This reproduction utilizes the inherent spatio-temporal correlation amongst the nodes.
Although correlation based sensor data estimation can reduce the overall data traffic significantly, without a complementary routing mechanism, the energy efficiency can be diminished significantly. Also special, routing mechanism is required for energy harvested network and real-time network.
